Nassau/Suffolk Counties: take Wantagh or Meadowbrook Parkway north to the Northern State Parkway west
Brooklyn/Queens: Cross Island Parkway to Northern State Parkway east
Via Long Island Expressway or Northern State Parkway exit at Glen Cove Road (#39 on LIE, #31 on Northern). Drive north to the intersection with Route 25A/Northern Boulevard. Turn left (westbound). Continue two blocks to the Museum entrance on the right.
Take the Long Island Railroad Oyster Bay line to the Roslyn station or the Port Washington line to the Manhasset station. The museum is a short taxi or Uber/Lyft ride from either station.
Nassau County’s N20 bus stops on Northern Boulevard at the entrance to the Museum.
The Museum Store is a premier shopping destination featuring a uniquely curated selection of artful gifts, objets d’art and design concepts inspired by the Museum’s exhibits and permanent collection. We offer an extraordinary variety of jewelry, fashion accessories, home décor, books, stationery, arts and crafts and creative toys and games.
Each and every purchase supports and preserves the Museum’s historic property, nature preserve, permanent art collections and the presentation of exhibitions, school and public programs. Now that the Museum Store has been relocated to the second floor, it is more appealing than ever.
Tickets for programs and events may be purchased in advance. Please visit the Public Programs page. Admission tickets for the Museum exhibits are available in person upon arrival.
There are no dining facilities at the Museum. Click on the TripAdvisor logo to find restaurants in the area. Snack and beverage vending machines and a seating area are available for visitors.
No, this is not permitted. Travel luggage, camping backpacks, and garment bags are not permitted in the coatroom.
Free self-service checking is provided in the coatroom for the following items which must be left: coats (unless they are going to be worn), packages, umbrellas, and large handbags.
Complimentary parking is available on site and a short walk from the Museum buildings. Limited handicap parking is available just past the Museum entrance. Parking is available at the Manes Center, as well.
Still photography without flash for personal use by means of phones, hand-held cameras and tablet devices, is permitted, except for those objects which are explicitly prohibited by notice. Selfie sticks are not permitted. Videography and use of a tripod are not permitted at any time.
The Museum offers both reserved and drop-in guided tours.
We do not at this time offer an audio tour.
