Author Elizabeth Burns of the Burns Archive will discuss her book, co-authored with Stanley B. Burns, Picturing Freedom: African Americans and their Cars which chronicles and focuses on personal images of the pride and joy of car ownership (1900-1980 and after). All of the photographs were taken in Black communities by a family member or a friend and celebrate how African Americans represented themselves.
