Dear Museum Family,
Magnificent historic structures require special care throughout their lives.
Our beautiful mansion will receive a number of important upgrades in the coming weeks, so we plan to remain closed until Saturday, March 21, 2026, when four new exhibitions are scheduled to open:
• 250 Years of Art on Long Island
• Profiles in Color: The Paintings of Andres Valencia
• National Pastime: The Baseball Show
While we would prefer to plan this work with more lead time, the mansion has made its demands known now. Our response is both timely and thorough, so the museum can continue to serve as a remarkable venue in which to discover the world of art for generations to come.
I’m happy to share that the Manes Art Education Center’s enriching schedule of classes, workshops, and events for adults and children is proceeding as planned and without interruption. See the new website calendar!
The estate’s 145 acres with 44 snow-covered sculptures, the magical pinetum, and miles of wooded trails are all open for exploration.
MUSEUM MEMBERS: please note, you will receive an additional month to the term of your membership to make up for this closure period. This extension will be done automatically for you.
All tickets purchased in advance for museum admission, lectures, etc. for this period will be refunded.
We sincerely apologize to you for any inconvenience that this closure may cause and thank you for understanding. We are profoundly disappointed to shorten the run of such a stunning exhibition, however, the Real, Surreal, Photoreal catalogue will always be a beautiful resource for you to enjoy.
Spring 2026 will be here soon – as will the museum’s reopening. We look forward to welcoming you back to a new season of creative experiences here!
Best wishes,
Beth Horn
Executive Director
