Step into a world of deep blues and intricate patterns. This hands-on workshop invites you to discover the beauty of Shibori, an ancient Japanese resist-dyeing technique traditionally used with indigo. We will learn how folding, binding, twisting, and stitching fabric can create beautiful patterns and textures. Participants will dye a cotton tote bag.

As we work together, we will discuss the fascinating ways pigment is extracted and the multitude of ways it has been used across different cultures around the world. This is a wonderful way to spend the day connecting with nature and creating something truly unique.

All art making materials are included. One tote bag to dye will be provided for each participant. Participants should not bring any additional materials.

Pre-registration is required by all. Price includes Museum admission.  Click here to become a member.
