Beginner to intermediate levels.
Adults and Teens 16+

Location: The Manes Art Education Center

  • Winter Session (6 weeks): January 12, 26, February 2, 9, 23, March 2 (no class 1/19, 2/16)
  • Spring Session 1 (7 weeks): March 9, 16, 23, 30, April 13, 20, 27 (no class 4/6)
  • Spring Session 2 (6 weeks): May 4, 11, 18, June 8, 15, 22 (no class 5/25)

Price for 6 weeks: $427.50 members | $450 non-members
Price for 7 weeks: $498.75 members | $525 non-members

Discover the creative sweet spot where wheel-thrown forms meet hand built artistry. This dynamic class teaches you to bridge the gap between throwing and hand building using innovative surface techniques like plaster board painting and slip silkscreens. Explore funky teapots, vessels, and containers, expanding your clay-making toolkit with playful design and unique applications.

Registered participants receive the following per registered session:

  • 1 – 12 lb. bag of clay*
  • Kiln Firings
  • Shelf space for storage
  • May attend 1 optional Open Studio session per week which is based on a sign-up basis.

Materials for all ceramics classes: We do not supply clay tools during class. A tool kit can be purchased at checkout and kept on your shelf in the Center.

Please bring the following items to class.

  • Ceramic tool kit** (may be purchased at checkout for an additional $20)
  • An apron
  • 1 notebook and pencil
  • 1 hand towel
  • 1 plastic shoe box

*Only the clay provided by our studio may be used in class and fired in our kiln. Additional 25 lb. bag of clay may be purchased for $40.

**We do not supply clay tools during class. A tool kit can be purchased at checkout and kept on your shelf in the ceramic studio.

 

Pre-registration is required for this on-site class.
