Connect with the natural world through a contemporary artistic lens in this 5-week studio series, which moves beyond basic crafts to explore the sophisticated textures, chemistry, and forms of local flora. Participants will experiment with alternative photographic processes, high-contrast printmaking, and organic hand-binding techniques, culminating in a beautiful, cohesive portfolio of botanical works. Throughout the series, artists will focus on composition and scale by learning how to arrange organic forms into balanced, dynamic fine art layouts. They will dive into alternative processes to understand the intersections of chemistry, sunlight, and natural pigments, while fostering studio independence by developing unique personal variations on classic printmaking techniques.
