A fun-filled drop-off experience for ages 5–10 at the Nassau County Museum of Art! Children will spend the day getting creative, exploring, moving, playing, and making discoveries through interactive art activities, outdoor adventures, games, storytelling, and hands-on artmaking. With plenty of opportunities to use their imaginations and get creative, this one-of-a-kind museum experience is designed to be active, engaging, and memorable!
9:00–9:30 AM | Welcome & Kick-off
Children will check in, meet the museum educators, and make fall- or Halloween-themed name tags using stickers, stamps, and collage materials.
9:30–10:30 AM | Gallery Adventure
Children will explore the Louis Comfort Tiffany exhibition through an Art Hunt and hands-on looking activities, searching the galleries for specific colors, patterns, shapes, textures, and nature-inspired details.
10:30–10:45 AM | Snack & Movement Break
Time to refuel! Children will have a 15-minute snack and restroom break, with plenty of opportunity to stretch, move, and recharge before our outdoor adventure. Parents/guardians should provide a nut-free snack.
10:45 AM–12:00 PM | Outdoor STEAM Adventure
Outside, children will search for colorful leaves and other signs of fall using magnifying glasses, complete a fall treasure hunt and observation challenges, and play movement games before settling in for a fall-themed story and a short art activity.
12:00–12:45 PM | Lunch & Outdoor Play
Children will eat lunch, relax, and enjoy outdoor games and free play. Parents/guardians should provide a nut-free lunch.
12:45–2:00 PM | Halloween Artmaking
Children will create faux stained-glass-inspired Halloween artwork using colorful, transparent materials, then work together to create a large Halloween mural filled with their own spooky and silly designs.
