Ready to move beyond the basics? Our Middle School Art Lab is designed for young creators who are ready to bridge the gap between “student” and “artist.”
This summer, we aren’t just making crafts—we’re exploring the techniques of professional artists. From finding inspiration across our 145-acre nature preserve for botanical prints to mastering mold making in the studio, students will tackle ambitious projects that challenge their technical skills and expand their conceptual thinking.
Located at the Manes Art Education Center and inspired by the Nassau County Museum of Art’s world-class collection, this program offers a professional studio environment where “happy accidents” meet technical mastery. Guided by our educator, Margo, young artists will experiment with complex media like linocut printmaking, cyanotypes, and wire sculpture. Whether they are stepping into the shoes of a sculptor, or painting en plein air, students will leave with a portfolio that reflects a sophisticated, unique visual brand. This is a space where personal narrative meets professional technique—perfect for the artist ready to find their voice.
