The Manes Art Education Center at Nassau County Museum of Art presents  Poetry of Stones, an art installation celebrating the interconnectivity of nature, sustainability, and the intricacies of handmade work. Created in the Nuno Felting process, a wet technique involving wool, warm water and soap to create sculptural forms, the 3-panel  installation includes assembled sculptural depictions of stones made with locally sourced wool and plant-based dyes.

Oksana Danziger studied textile design at the Moscow State Textile University where she received a Masters Degree in 1986. Before moving to New York in 1991, Danziger has exhibited tapestries, silk paintings, and fiber art collages in galleries and museums throughout Russia and is in the collection of Moscow’s Decorative Art Museum. Danziger has taught art classes at her studio for elementary school children funded by the Moscow Arts Council, and continues to teach in art studios in New York. Her silk scarves have retailed at Henri Bendel and she has exhibited at the Art League of Long Island, Long Island Craft Guild, a solo exhibition of silk paintings in Gallery One in Soho, New York,  and completed several residencies, globally. Danziger is also a certified yoga instructor and practitioner, and infuses mindfulness techniques into her art instruction and fine art studio practice.

Oksana Danziger teaches painting, drawing and fiber arts at The Manes Art Education Center at NCMA and her scarves and watercolor prints are on sale at the Museum Store.
