Form a lump of clay into various shapes and objects as you learn the basic techniques of wheel throwing in this exciting new program at our education center. The perfect experience for participants new to the potter’s wheel, or those looking to refresh or strengthen their basic abilities.

Beginners will learn the fundamental skills necessary to throw cylinders, cups, bowls and more on a pottery wheel. Follow along to step-by-step demonstrations of wedging, centering, pulling, forming, and trimming, along with an introduction to surface decoration techniques.

Intermediate students build upon basic skills and knowledge of throwing on the wheel to further technical understanding of clay. More complex functional forms, refinement of throwing skills, and advanced decorative and glazing techniques will be demonstrated and applied.
