Planned Giving

Your Enduring Legacy

The Nassau County Museum of Art has served our community for 30 years, and we are dedicated to fulfilling our important mission for the benefit of generations to come. This commitment is supported each year by many thoughtful and forward-thinking individuals who give through their estates. Estate planning offers donors the opportunity to transform a love of art into a lasting cultural legacy for the Museum and the community.

As you create or revise your estate plan, we encourage you to remember that you do not have to be wealthy to leave a legacy. Regardless of the size, your gift to the Nassau County Museum of Art will help to ensure that future generations can enjoy our grounds, the exhibitions and programming that you value today.

Bequests

One of the simplest ways to provide a gift to the Museum is through a planned gift is through a charitable bequest in your will or living trust. It is not necessary to rewrite your current documents—simply add an amendment, called a codicil, to your will or living trust.

Suggested language for such a codicil is provided below for you and your attorney to review:

“I give devise and bequeath to the Nassau County Museum of Art (tax I.D. 11-2949583), a private, not-for-profit, 501(C)3, tax exempt organization, located in Roslyn Harbor, New York, the sum of _________ dollars ($________ ) OR _________ percent ( _____%) of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate OR the following described property: _________ for the benefit of its general purposes.”

Your bequest remains entirely under your control throughout your lifetime and becomes irrevocable only at death. Please contact the Museum to discuss your gift, and provide appropriate staff with a copy of the relevant provision from your will or trust benefiting the Nassau County Museum of Art.
