Explore the fluid and jewel like qualities of watercolors and create expressive paintings by learning the fundamentals including, watercolor wash, color mixing, proper materials, tonal value, composition, and more. Beginning with how to make a simple pencil sketch outlining your subject, then applying bold color and fluid brush marks to achieve a compelling and complete painting. With step-by-step- instruction, participants will utilize all the techniques that make watercolor unique like, wet on wet, glazing, and direct painting, and avoid common mistakes such as ‘overworking’ the painting. Group and individual instruction is provided throughout the course. Reference photos will be provided.
