Modeled after our popular, sold-out Virtual Summer Art Lab, the Museum is excited to offer Virtual Art After School: Drawing & Painting. Led by our educator Katie and geared for ages 7 to 10, this virtual program is focused on developing drawing and painting skills. With five different project tutorials inspired by contemporary and historical artists, young artists will explore ideas of composition, color mixing, artist choice and observational drawing.

Included in this program are:

  • 6 live weekly zoom sessions on Wednesdays from 4:30 – 5:00 (we understand after a school day not wanting to be online much longer) where we will draw together, ask questions and share works of art. The final zoom will be a chance to share our favorite artworks we created.
  • Five pre-recorded project tutorials to let you create at home at your own pace. We encourage to rewind, rewatch and press pause during the days and times of the week that work best for you.  Registrants will receive one project tutorial emailed to them each week so that all students will be working on projects in the same order. Your registration is vital to the Museum’s survival and we ask you to not share the tutorials with friends or family outside your home. We ask these videos be used within your home only for the purposes of this class.
  • An art materials kit is included with registration, but we encourage you to supplement with any additional materials you have at home.
