After-School Art Lab I • Grades K-2
Tuesdays, 4:30 – 5:15 pm
January 13, 20, 27 February 3, 10, 24 • March 3, 10 • No class on 2/17

Watch your child’s imagination come to life in this exciting STEAM adventure, integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics! Designed for curious young minds, this hands-on program blends art, science, and nature through creative exploration and process-based artmaking. Students experiment with color, light, and texture, while discovering how artists and scientists observe and interpret the world.

With access to the Museum’s galleries and surrounding landscapes, children find inspiration both indoors and out. Each session nurtures imagination, confidence, and problem-solving skills—helping students see the world through the eyes of both an artist and an explorer.

After-School Art Lab II • Grades 3-5
Wednesdays, 4:30 – 5:30 pm
January 14, 21, 28 • February 4, 11, 25 • March 4, 11 • No class on 2/18

In this dynamic program, young artists explore the connections between art, science, and the natural world. Rooted in STEAM principles and a curriculum aligned with New York State learning standards, each session encourages creative thinking, experimentation, and discovery.

Students draw inspiration from the Museum’s galleries and 145-acre nature preserve, using materials and techniques that foster both skill and imagination. Guided by professional teaching artists, each project is inspired by art history, the environment, and contemporary culture, helping children build artistic confidence and a lifelong appreciation for creativity. Each session concludes with a student art exhibition celebrating their growth and achievements.

After-School Art Lab III • Grades 6-8
Thursdays, 4:30 – 6 pm
January 15, 22, 29 • February 5, 12, 26 • March 5, 12 • No class on 2/19

This advanced studio program invites young artists to expand their skills beyond the traditional classroom, to engage in an art curriculum that aligns with New York State learning standards. Through hands-on projects, students explore sophisticated techniques while cultivating imagination, critical thinking, and self-expression.

Drawing inspiration from both historical and contemporary artists, participants investigate advanced concepts in composition, form, and visual storytelling. They also engage deeply with the natural world and the human form, refining observational skills and translating their insights into thoughtful, expressive works of art.

With exclusive access to the Museum’s galleries, students study masterworks up close, connecting their own practice to examples of artistic excellence. Each session concludes with a celebratory exhibition, showcasing the creativity, technical growth, and artistic maturity achieved by our young artists.
